“Ancient Plains” is a response to the cultural and racial biases found in the traditional definition of classical antiquity. For millennia the standard of antiquity has remained the same leading to a homogenous perspective that fails to represent a broad spectrum of civilizations.

Colourful, evolving shapes contrast with the homogenous, idealized forms of classical sculpture - this installation in the Museum of Antiquities at the U of S created a dynamic environment symbolic of continually shifting perspectives and the beauty associated with diversity.
